Ridgeback Terrain

Bothy Blue - 6061 Aluminium Trail Bike with Suspension Fork

The Ridgeback Terrain is a bike for riders who want to get off the beaten track. It's a proper, capable trail bike - built around a lightweight 6061 aluminium frame, equipped with a 100mm suspension fork, hydraulic disc brakes and wide 2.4"" tyres, and designed to handle everything from everyday riding to rougher trails.

The Terrain's Suntour XCM32 suspension fork with 100mm of travel takes the sting out of rough ground, giving you greater control and confidence when the trail gets uneven. Combined with a 66-degree head angle and generous tyre clearance, it's a setup designed to feel stable and composed when you're riding away from smooth tarmac.

Wheel sizing is proportional to frame size, with 27.5-inch wheels on XS and S frames and 29-inch wheels on M, L and XL. That means each rider gets a wheel size suited to the size of the bike, rather than one wheel format being used across the entire range. The Maxxis Rekon 2.4"" tyres provide plenty of grip and volume for loose, wet and uneven surfaces, while the wide aluminium rims give the tyres a solid foundation.

Braking is handled by Shimano MT-200 hydraulic disc brakes, with 180mm front and 160mm rear rotors. They provide consistent, progressive stopping power and give you the control you need when the trail gets steep, loose or wet.

Gearing comes from the hard-wearing Shimano CUES 9-speed drivetrain, paired with a 32T chainring and wide-range 11-46T cassette. It's a straightforward setup with enough range for climbing without making things unnecessarily complicated. The 700mm handlebars on XS and S models and 760mm bars on M, L and XL provide plenty of leverage and control when the terrain gets technical.

Finished with a Madison Terrain saddle, lock-on dual-density grips and flat pedals, the Terrain comes ready to ride. An integrated kick stand plate and mounts for a luggage rack & mudguards allow easy installation of optional accessories. With a lifetime warranty on the frame and fork, it's built to provide dependable service long after the first ride.
